Can you introduce yourself and describe your role at Ingleside?

My name is Claudia Rivera, and I’ve been with Ingleside at King Farm for 15 years. I started as a housekeeper and now serve as the Environmental Services (EVS) Manager. It’s been an incredible journey of growth and learning.

What services does your team provide?

At Ingleside at King Farm, we handle a wide range of housekeeping and laundry services. This includes light and heavy-duty cleaning, annual deep cleaning, housekeeping for assisted living residents, personal laundry, and carpet care. Our team interacts with residents daily, whether during one-on-one visits while cleaning their apartments or through casual conversations as we move around the community. These moments of connection are an important part of our work.

What do you love most about your job?

What I enjoy most is the daily interaction with our staff, residents, and their families. Building those relationships and creating a positive environment is what makes my job so fulfilling.

How would you describe the transition when Coreworks started at Ingleside?

In the beginning there can always be challenges, but the support of resources provided by Coreworks helped to make it more successful. The operation is running smoothly, the staff is happy, and Coreworks has proven to be an excellent partner.

How do you and the Coreworks team work together?

We have built a great partnership over time. Coreworks has brought much-needed structure and top-notch training to our team.

What impact has Derrick (Director, Environmental Services, Coreworks) brought to you and the team?

Derrick has been an incredible leader and mentor. He has embraced the culture at Ingleside and integrated Coreworks’ core values into our work. He’s given me the autonomy to lead while also guiding me to become a better manager. Derrick has supported my professional growth by encouraging me to participate in leadership training, which has helped me refine my management skills.

What kind of training does Coreworks provide and how does it prepare your team for success?

We’re fortunate to receive comprehensive safety, cleanliness, and compliance trainings, including both the mandatory monthly training at Ingleside and the in-service sessions provided by Coreworks. The trainings help reinforce essential skills such as active shooter awareness, workplace violence prevention, sexual harassment policies, and safety procedures, ensuring that our team is well-equipped to handle any situation.
